I usually like to put some protien powder in muffins or cookies is that ok. I read some threads that state the protien powder may be damaged from the heat. I also like to mix some protien powder into my oatmeal does the microwave damage it?

Thanks

All this food talk is making me hungry !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it damages it slightly, but not as badly as used to be thought.

In fact, all protein is slightly damaged by heat - but you wouldn't eat raw chicken.

All protein gets denatured by heat, does that affect its bioavailablity? sure, less that one might imagine. The benefits of other additives: vitamins, herbals, in a protein 'mix' would suffer greatly, or at least receive the most alteration from the heat.

Listen to eat big, optimum is the joint.

If you are going to add it to oatmeal, why do it BEFORE cooking? make your oatmeal a little looser then stir it in after. I do. It tastes a bit like sucking a cats ass, but it works.
