Caloric staggering as opposed to static calories & refeed day

Alright. i think im beyond my plateau because i ate at maintenance for 3 weeks then went back to dieting a little harder (calories cut a bit more, a little more exercise, more drugs). I was 261.2 on monday the 1st i just weighed myself today and i ws 254.4. However i might be a little dehydrated so im prob. closer to 256 or so.

Anyway, maintenance at my current exercise/drug level is probably 4100 calories a day. I've been eating about 2600 a day and im wondering if 1 refeed day a week is enough to keep my metabolism up.

Im thinking of caloric staggering instead. Example

Day 1 2500 calories
Day 2 3500
Day 3 2000
Day 4 4000
Day 5 2000
Day 6 2000
Day 7 4500

Repeat. That gives an average of 2900 calories a day. If i just do 2600/day for 6 days and one 4500 refeed day that gives about 2900/day average.

Or failing that for fear it would cause starvation to set in im thinking of adding another near refeed day on day 4, like 4000 calories. So i'd do 2500 days 1-3, 4000 day 4, 2500 days 5-6 & 4500 day 7.

Im thinking that eating at maintenance every 3rd or 4th day and eating near maintenance on one extra day will keep my metabolic rate up however to compensate and keep weekly calories low i'd have to cut below my 2600 im eating now. I dont know if this will have horrid side effects because i will eat near maintenance within a day or 2 of cutting that low. I dont know if hormone levels change that quickly.

I remember an article from Tmag about refeeding and leptin levels and i think it only takes a day or so for hormones to adapt to starvation.

Can anyone show me how long it takes the body to adapt to starvation? I would assume it would only take a day or 2.
