Also, I'm not sure that you should be pl'ing if your heart isn't in it.

Right on the money with this one...

Also wanted to point out that I have worked off and on with bodybuilders (many on Elite) who THINK that they properly know how to squat, bench press, and deadlift because that is how they have been properly taught in the bodybuilding world...and they rarely ever are even close.

It wasn't that awful long ago a skinny 150 pound kid wanted to just be able to bench 315 and he would be happy. If he could just squat and pull 4 plates! Well now I bench 450 dead and squat over 6 and keep on improvin. I have small joints but so does george halbert. You are only ever defeated if you quit!!!! Powerlifting is just you and the bar, get pissed, train smart, eat right and sleep well!! You will definitely be amazed, viking power to ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am convinced that any sport/thing that POD puts her mind to...she can and will do...and be very good at...

When I started PL I hit it hard for way to long because of my enthusiam in my new found sport. I ended up getting hurt too frequently as well. I started BB but all full range and not extreme weight to really work the muscle and nothing else. I paid attention not to put any strain my joints. I never stopped working the glute ham raise, (think this is were most of my strength came from) abs, and would occasionally do some light squats. 2 months and nothing hurts and moving back to all the PL movements. I probably lost 10 to 20 percent of my strength but in great shape and feel passing my past personal records will be easy. So take a little time off, heal and come back later.

...this is what im gonna do...take some time off, bb...i would love to compete at the olympia, lots of time for me to powerlift, im still young.. i know i have the lifts, just don't want the injuries anymore.....

Princess,

Small joints mean small bones. This means that for a person your height, weight and bf%, but with bigger bones, has less MUSCLE! (more weight is in their bones). SO....get your joints strong, warm up before lifting, take ascending sets to "feel" where you stand that day so you don't shock your body.

Small bones means efficient for your weight class.

i train under a national powerlifting champion, he agrees that im doing my body more bad than good. he says my genetics are for bb and that's what i should be doing...i get peace of mind in the fact that i have got the lifts and can always get them again.....

If you enjoy bb...and your heart is in it...then you should do it! Maybe pl isn't for you. IF you feel that you have pushed your body to the extent....then go do something else if that is what you want to do! It's just want YOU want to do. Good luck making your decision...I'm sure it's a tough one.
