Benefits of real soup?

[TABLE="width: 100%"]

[TD="width: 100%"] In my culture soups are a big part of our day to day diet, so we eat them very often. And I mean naturally cooked soups with some vegetables cooked in the water with a bit of meat or fish in it. But I have never seen anybody on bodybuilding forums mentioning soup as a good meal, or a bad meal, as if it did not exist. What are your opinions of a good old soup? Not these modern premade cream soups.

If you are cooking it without frying anything else first, then it is definitely a healthy kind of soup. It may not be the best thing nutrition wise in order to get all of your macros, but it will definitely be a very healthy thing for your stomach, so it is definitely a good idea to eat some clear (not fat or thick) soup on a regular basis.

i really wish it wasn't so hot where i live or i would learn how to cook my own soups.

bone broth soups made at home are extremely healthy. big difference between home made soup and the soups you buy in cans

Real homemade soup is a super food and a one pot meal. If you eat in vegetables, lean meats, and maybe some good quality carb sources like brown rice - you have a complete meal right there.

There is a reason that every traditional culture has soups as one of their staple meals.

I wish the soups available at your local grocery store weren't such garbage. If you read the ingredients on a can of chicken noodle soup, it sounds more like a science experience then food.

The way you are making it is a great meal! A nice lean protein, some veggies, and water.......nothing wrong with that.

I think it is more that in the typical North American culture soups are not made healthy. They are bought in a store in a can that is filled with crap ingredients and preservatives.
