B FOLD a couple of small questions

SomatoSensory Nervous System. Responible for feedback to allow the individual to balance properly, etc. Proprioceptors fall into this category.

Can you please explain in very simple terms man...you are still way over my head.

I may be way of base but would the SSNS be respsonsible for INTERmuscle coordination then??

LOL... Ditto to B True.

B fold, 50 year olds, thats older than me, LOL. There should be a Masters division, like in powerlifting. Started using the green bands on reverse bench presses, hanging them lightly off the top of rack. Am doing reps with 500, what a brutal sucker as the bands lose their tension.

Art McDermott...

Not for sure how "young" he is...but super strong...

The reason i ask is because i have always admired strongmen.
and one day wish to be one (im a strong child! at 22).

If i start with strong powerlifts...will i have a better chance developing the type of strength needed for competing?

I am sort of torn between sports.....i like the "real world" strength in strongman competitions, but the powerlifting world has many charms as well.

Doing the powerlifts will help with your overall body strength...but you MUST do the events to be good at them. They are totally different from any type of powerlift.

Think of the SSNS like your inner ear drum. Does not do a whole lot upon first glance, but when somebody clocks you upside the head, your balance goes in the shitter.

Same thing. Feedback. If the flow of information from your muscles and nerves gets interrupted, due to injury or simple fatiuge, your skill goes in the toilet, as your bodies ability to compensate for simple things that you do not need to focus on is comprosmised. Most people do not give much thought to just standing there, but this takes a certain amount of work on behalf of your body and its systems.

And B-fold, it is not just my age, it is my injuries. I can lift because barbells are designed to be lifted. However, if I tried to do all that juggling trees and throwing small cars, with all of the replacement parts I have, it would look like I shit an erector set.

ZZuluz, yes it would.

And endpoint, by way of example, my deadlift is better than B-fold's, but I have no idea where to begin flipping a tire. Example:

Commentator:

"B-fold just threw an 800 pound tire into orbit. What's happening on the other side of the field?"

"Well, apparently slumped over the tire taken from my grandson's Tonka truck is B-fold's little bitch, better known as Arioch. It doesn't look good."

Another example that would not make me look quite so bad is Olympic lifting. Given the fact that I have probably put more time into it that most other people on the board, as well as good genetics, I can snatch far more weight that many people who can out squat, bench, and deadlift me.

I like the second example a lot better.
