I went to the NZ army assessment day today and everything went fine until the physical section came up this may sound really stupid and sad but when i had to do the 2.4k run i was tired before i even got to the track because we had to jog thier ourselves wasn't too far, once the run started i was totally screwed before quater of the way through , felt like i was gonna faint, started getting dizzy, basically i was gonna fall down dead, all sorts of crap was going through my head :worried:. So does anyone have any advice on how i can get my fitness level up a whole heap? so i could possibly actually finish the run next time and finish it running all the way through:mad:     :nopity:

try to run that 2.4k non stop, no matter what speed you are jogging at. then try to improve your time by jogging it at a faster rate. the key to this is breathing believe it or not. concentrate on your breathing, and try to get a tempo down. you can improve your run time failr y quick if you condition yourself progressively.

I've started jogging/sprinting too :( Good luck...

Then you'll go through infantry basic. Cardio bro, its an evil word, but thats all you should concern yourself with. Run, walk, ride, swim, do it again, then do it with 40 lbs of books in a back pack. Then do it again. Get use to walking. Gather a couple bros and go hiking. Walk a lot, because you will march everywhere, then they'll run you.

Good luck
