Tomorrow I want to try a set of 20 rep deadlifts instead of the usual rack deadlifts, with 335 pounds. Anyone ever tried this, and what was your max, and did you complete it or did you break your lower back :)

I've done it for 12. Never tried 20. I'm sure it's doable.

My concerns would be form deterioration and injury potential.

did it while on the old school routine. best was 365 for 20 done sumo. form suffered just a little for me, but I set each one down from 12 or so on and started from scratch. seemed to help. a VERY tough set though...I like a good challenge, something different

Did it a short while ago with 175kg= about380-390pounds. Careful with your form, I now know that it was a bad idea for me to do it because I was very new to deads at the time.

Hahaha iron lion is funny. Did you watch my clips, what do you think bro?

I have tried this before. . . .

Lats and traps were sore for a while.

I have never maxed on these, but I have pulled 600lbs for 5 reps from knee level.

When I perform rack deads, I typically follow this warmup procedure:

warmups: 315lbs x 12, 405lbs x 12, 500lbs x 12
building set: 600lbs x 3-6 reps, depending on how I feel.

aftermath: banged up knees and bruised quads, also deathly sore lats, traps, and neck.
