my view is if its a tested league and you bribe or manipulate your test somehow then you are cheating. however if its not a tested league then everyone else is using something to get a bit stronger, so i dont consider it cheating. but AAS will not make you into a MMA fighter, it takes a shitload of training, flexibility and skills. i could never do it myself, doesn't matter if i were to juice or not. i've never been in a fight in my life and wouldn't do what to do.

True. I personally took it up as a hobby and recommend it to everyone who trains. Its wicked if you can co-operate all that strength into something practical such as some kind of martial arts. You look good, your strong and you know how to fight. Obviously a fight is the last thing you want to get into, its a waste and its not needed and should be avoided at all times.

But sometimes you end up in a situation in which you will have to defend yourself, and though being big is intimidating and works most of the times, you will always find someone with balls and therefore should know how to defend yourself.

It does take a lot of commitment and effort. It requires the same effort and dedication one has to weight training. its mind over matter and it takes heart to do it, just like anything in life. But i train with a lot of older and stronger people hence, why i would like to increase my strength as well as leaning up. its not all about strength and being bigger, its about using skills and techniques, however strength does play a big part, in the way it is utilized when training.

Its going to be pretty tough to make good gains without any meat in your diet. Var is a pretty damn good drug for newbies. Guys who are experienced with aas and have done a few cycles will try a var only cycle, gain nothing, and then say what the hell this stuff is garbage. Newbies will take it at 40mg ed and gain upwards of 10lbs of lmb with minimal sides, possibly shed a percent or two of bf, and get a pretty good boost in strength, 85% of which will be kept off cycle. I like var at 40mg per day by itself. Yes var only cycles are frowned upon by most but at the end of the day, var with creatine and glutamine is a very good little cycle. 6 weeks is long enough, use a multivitimin while on cycle, do clomid and nolva for pct with some milk thistle or liv 52. hope this helps!

good post and I respect your opinion but I disagree and here is why:

black bears in the south are mostly vegetarians, so are gorilla's. (both eat very very little animal maybe some insects or larvae but they don't eat meat) and they are pretty damn muscular

I'm always up for a good debate :)

Gorillas and Black bears have to eat so much greenery they spend their entire day doing it - in order to get the calories necessary to sustain. Chimpanzees, on the other hand, are known to eat meat during dry seasons. It's a balance of efficiency.

Meat is an optimal calorie source. Getting all the required calories as a vegan requires you eat a massive amount of food (unless you start eating some weird processed junk food crap). This is even more true while weightlifting.

you don't need to eat meat to grow muscle, I know cause I was a vegan for 2 years myself and i was built like a freight train. as long as you workout like a beast you will grow muscle even if you eat slop everyday. of course a great diet will aid greatly, but a vegan diet is actually better than the shit diets i see a lot of guys eating that make them overweight and fat. many men eat too much meat and they have huge bellies, so eating a lot of meat isn't gonna make you the hulk.

again i was one for 2 years so i have been there, done that. a lot of vegan hippie type guys you see around don't work out so yeah they are skinny, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't be capable of growing muscle. complete myth.. its a fair stereotype because 99% of them don't workout, but it doesn't apply to all. I still to this day eat very little meat. i will have some grassfed beef, wild fish, and some baked chicken spread out over the course of the week... but I am far from a meat eater and I am carrying plenty of mass.

While I dont disagree that one could make gains without meat in their diet - I just dont see it as an optimal energy input. We thrive off the fats that animals provide us with. I'm not sure how you could eat 3500 calories of plant sourced food without maybe drinking olive oil and eating ANPB by the bottle.

Fats are important in testosterone production as well.

as for soy i would agree with you on that, its shit. its pretty much sugar in a different form (null of nutrition) and has no health benefits. and i agree the OP should swap that out and get some cage free eggs and eat SOME animal protein which is ethical instead of nasty soy..

i actually catch my own fish rather than buy from the store because of the environmental threats fishing boats pose to the oceans and other sealife. and i won't mess with farm raised fish that are fed who knows what. so I am in your boat OP, but you don't have to be so stringent.

Soy is crap because its protein gram per gram is the lowest on the bioavailability index. Not even worth eating IMO. It's sell as a health food product was a scam because it was just a byproduct of some other process and they had to figure out what to do with it.

Sounds like you have the best meat source possible buddy.

I agree with you man. I don't know the science behind if your body knows the difference between protein from say chicken, kale, or almonds but based on my limited experience I think you can get damn good results from AAS while on a vegan diet. I would bet most people's results may be a bit better eating meats and dairy as far as lean muscle gains but I think this is because particularly meat offers a ton of protein without the extra carbs and fat that some of the vegan foods have. Personally, my gains during my current cycle have been just as good as my last cycle when I was not on a mostly raw 95% vegan diet. I do eat raw fish on occassion simply because I love it too much to give up. I must say though, going vegan requires a hell of a lot more effort in trying to get lots of protein. I feel better digestion wise when not eating meat and dairy though and I think living meat and dairy free is better for you in the long run. Obviously, I am far from an expert here and this is simply only my opinion.

using var with MMA training is a double edged sword. the main issue you will be dealing with is pumps. you could possibly eliminate them with taurine but you will still feel heaviness in the muscles when you are working out. i literally after a workout cannot even put my hand on my chest from the incredible tightness and vascularity I get from var. the N2guard I take eliminates the pumps but my muscles have a noticeable fullness to them, its an awesome feeling for a lifter but a bad feeling if you are a runner or MMA fighter. keep this in mind.

if you still insist i would say keep the dosages at 40 or 50mg. keep the cycle under 6 weeks.. and run some hcgenerate for a couple weeks leading up to pct which can be a very light dose of clomid and a bottle of a natty test booster such as unleashed.

no you don't need test with any AAS, i stopped stacking my cycles with test and i'm much more pleased with my dry gains. but whether you stack test with a cycle or not you still need the proper ancillaries during and a good pct.

You're damn good at touching almost every point, Steve. Props and thanks on the good info you're dishing out brother.
