Almonds as late night snack, or snack in general? FOODS!

natural nut fat is good fat. thats my general rule

What I like to do is buy tons of my favorite kinds (unsalted, not roasted)
(macadamians if I can afford, pistachios, almonds, chestnuts, hazels,etc..)

and just throw them all in a baggie/lil baggies and keep a bag with me for anytime I need a little snack during the day

oh and if $ is a prob. just buy them in the shell (cheaper always) and shell them your goddamn self.

I cant cook worth a shit so I am forced to live like a squirrel

Pre bed:
Protein shake with Flax oil in water
Cottage cheese with almonds
)
Cottage cheese would be the best pre bed meal, because it's casein protein. Casein protein is the best thing you can have before bed, because it's slow releasing and keep you in an anabolic state during the night. Protein shakes are good in the morning because they are digested quick. Go with the cottage cheese. If you have no choice, have the shake.

You all should watch out for the almond. They are a source of cyanide

excerpt from http://www.inchem.org/documents/pims/chemical/pimg003.htm

3. PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

3.1 Origin of the substance

Cyanide can be of natural or synthetic origin.

Natural origin: cyanide is found in foodstuffs such as
cassava, cabbage, spinach, mustard and in the kernels of
apples, stones of peaches and plums, as well as in cherry
stones and in almonds. Another source of human exposure is
tobacco smoke.

I learned this when I took a trip to the enviornmental office in order to do chemical allergy testing. Some chemicals you don't want to get on you but are still allergic to so the way they test for cyanide is by injecting cherry or almond into your skin and seeing if you react. There is enough to get anaphylaxis...

The same is true for formaldehyde. They test for formaldehyde by injecting pineapple in to your cutaneous skin, also enough to get anaphylaxis

And just because the vegetables are organic is irrelevant. Organic foods are sprayed with pesticedes the fda has deemed "organic". Foods with high fat absorb chemicals so almonds may give some of you trouble.
