16 yr old starting out

Some time ago I read a post, I think Mr. X wrote it on 16 yr old's starting out in body building. My son, who has been going to the gym for about 8 months now (4-6 times a week) needs guidance mainly in nutrition. He has good upper body strength and developing muscles, from working out and he's been riding dirt bikes for 12 years. He's 5'11 145 lbs. no visible body fat. Frustration is setting in cause he wants mass and he's talking supplements. When I heard "test", the brakes stopped.. oh no no no I said! Anyway, if someone remembers that post and can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Geeze what a mother has to go through!

Thanks for your help,

Peace

it coulda been anything. vitamin stores are always marketing products with "test" in their name. you gotta tell him that he's still growing, got atleast 2-3 years to go, sometimes more. with training and a good diet, he could easily put on 40 lbs. in that time.

Yep that's what I told him, he's still growing. But young men think they know everything and want it now. I don't think he'll wait 2-3 years for 40 lbs. That's why I was trying to approach it from the good diet angle. Is there something already posted on diet for a beginner youngster?

Thanks,

Peace

probably. but a lot of that shit is too complex for my way of thinking. if the young man wants to gain weight, 4-6 meals per day, a protein shake after workouts, and eat before bed. a sandwich and a glass of milk is about 1000 calories. eat breakfast, etc. if it gets too complicated, he might bail....

Im with human target on this one.....

K.I.S.S.
Keep it simple stupid. (i am no way callin u stupid, in fact i think you are amazing for coming here for info for your son)

He has to eat BIG. No way around that.

Calories in V.S. Calories Out

He needs to consume more cals then his body burns in a day. And at his age he can EAT EAT and EAT.

The prebed meal is a given. He wants mass then he will have to deal with big meals.

I recommened
1 protein Shake (50g protein)
1 PeanutButter/Jelly Sandwhich
Whole Wheat Toast

He will grow trust me.

Also, talk to him about real deal "test" it will shut him down at his age. letme know about the risks of using at his young age. All he needs is food to grow.

^^^^yes. let him know what stopping juice does to you. he's got years of natural training ahead, and every fellow here would most likely agree....

Yeah, HumanTarget nailed it before i did. FOOD FOOOD FOOOD is all he needs now.

Tell him anyone can stick a needle or pop a pill.

The real soldiers EAT.

Then when those soldiers turn into warriors, then the juicy juicy can come into play, but THIS IS JUST NOT THE TIME FOR HIM NOW AT ALL.

His TEST Levels are going to be high, in fact they might resemble some people's test levels HERE. He is young. He doesnt believe you, get his ass tested (blood work) and get his TEST levels checked for him, for evidence he doesnt need anymore "test" in him.

But always remember, he is young and is being influence ALOT by peers/media right now. While the media overblows everything out of proportion, you never know what his lifting peers are on/doing. So if you educate him, i guarentee he will go down the right track.

i wish i was taught basic stuff like DL's & SQ's and proper nutrition. i wasted many years fucking off.
