Approved Log Slyder Rotator cuff surgery log

I get the hernias looked at April 30. They moved that date forward so I like that. We shall see.
Yesterday did some chest. On chest days the shoulder has been giving a little discomfort again in shoulder. So am taking it easy on chest for a bit.
Spent good part of work out trying different machines a such. Figured out pain more on forward push at full lock. And more when elbows high. I still thing it is the tendon trying to heal. That is about 5 months more. So I am staying with movement that keeps elbows in, and 3/4 reps. I k ow when I get in last 1/4 of full lock it turns off chest and shoulders take over. Just wanna work chest. All other movements feel great. Gonna do a bit more band work for that shoulder. Incline bench on smith machine reverse grip chest press feel good with good chest activation. Finally smith machine that do not lean one way. I can do more stuff with it.
Still holding about 180 lb.
Able to hit gym 5-6 days at 2 hours each day including sauna time at end.
Kinda hard to post work outs right now. On so many machine trying things.and I have not figured out this metric stuff yet.,
Pull ups are getting better and that is awesome.
Abs are waking up after 2 years off.
@Slyderkt Glad to hear your hernia appointment got moved up! It’s smart to take it easy on chest workouts, especially with the shoulder discomfort. Focusing on movements that keep your elbows in and using 3/4 reps sounds like a good strategy to avoid aggravating it.

@Slyderkt ’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the new gym and sticking to your morning workouts! Holding steady at 180 lbs is impressive, especially with everything going on.
It finally hit. I did pick up a few lbs. Easter and funeral food back to back. It ok it was worth it and will be easy to drop.

@Slyderkt I’ve got a feeling I’ll be going through the same thing soon. My shoulder isn’t letting up any
I’d say get it looked at. I avoided it and cost me to get worse. I did have bursitis also and that was handled with alive double dose (2 pills each day for 7 days). Of course it was more than that. But I told this t a guy at gym and just that. Fixed him. That is more of a pain in back of shoulder. Could be a simple fix, never know. MRI tells the whole story

@Slyderkt a lot of times these therapists focus more on strengthening around the injury. when really they should focus more on mobility.
Oh trust me this guy is the real deal. He is not my Dr recomended physical therapist. I went to them and we pounded on rang of motion and mobility. That is great in the shoulder. This guy is my sports therapist. I see him once a month. Stretches and massage out all knots. Breaks up my scar tissue. Dry needles, cups, electrodes, and other stuff I don’t even understand. He is magic
