Which powerlifting orginization do you lift in?

Being new to competions I don't really know much about the different orginizations. I know there are several out there. Currently I'm lifting with NASA and want to get into others. I just want to compete more often, I think the exposure to different people will help me as much as anything. What orginization has the most lifters? I compete around 135. The last meet I was in may have had 3 or 4 people in my class. I want to have to push big weight to have to win, it makes it more of a challenge. What are you all in?

I have lifted in the USPF, APF, cleaned out and lifted in the ADFPA quite a few years ago, long before it became USAPL. My son has lifted in the AAU, and so has my wife.

I believe that USAPL has the most lifters, with the APF being a close second, although I could be wrong. The USAPL drug tests, the APF does not, although they now offer a tested division, the AAPF.

The WABDL seems to be very popular, but no squatting occurs, so I view them with a little suspicion, even though Gus R. is pretty cool.

I lift in the WABDL and they should be veiwed with suspicion if they allow someone like me to enter. It is a good organization as far as quality of meets, but they are all single event meets. I only compete in Bench, so they are just fine for me. I also lift in the APF, and when I start doing full meets (as soon as the deadlift gets over 500) then I will likely do them in APF.

I don't care for the equipment rules or squat depth required in USAPL and for those that like it, more power to you, but I can't get as deep as those guys go with a bare bar on my back.

Personally I think that having different organizations to choose from is great. If you want to lift double ply and untested, go APF, if you want to lift in a tested meet, there are organizations for that as well.

As of right now I'm just doing single meets. I cant squat anything. I would eventually like to get to the point where I can enter a full meet. I definately want to enter an orginization that is tested. I won't have a chance in one thats not I'm afarid. Thinks again guy!!!

I mainly lift in the APF now, and occaisionally in the APA. I have lifted USAPL also. I got started in NASA and lifted there for about 3 or 4 years. I have enjoyed lifting everywhere but right now my goals are in the APF. I plan on lifting in an IPA meet, maybe this summer if I dont enter the APF Srs.

I currently have a APA, APF, and WPO cards. I like to compete were every one is jacked to the gills! Just kiddin! I think i have doen these the most is Florida is were all three are based. And when i looked for my first ones to enter they were the closest. I will definitly be APA for life. Scott Taylors a friend of mine and i enjoy his meets.
