Hi.

I need advice. I have been getting all different opinions on post-workout foods, so now I'm confused ?

I immed. consume a protein shake. 2 scoops of protein powder totalls= 260 calories, 44 gr. protein, 12 gr. carbs, 6 gr.sugar

I also eat either 1/2 bananna or 1/2 cup oatmeal with splenda.

I've been hearing bananna's are a no-no ? and I shouldn't have oatmeal post-workout ?

So what do I eat ?

PS: I am 130-135 lbs, 37 yr. old female, 23% body fat, 5'6 " tall.

I want to add as much muscle as I can while not gaining a lot of fat I
hope !!!!!!

BTW: I usually consume 140-145 grams of protein a day. is that a good amount ? my protein intake is always higher than my body weight.

Thanks :qt:

the shake you have is usually good..i have a PWO shake right after my training......then about 1 1/2 hours later i consume protein and complex carbs...in my instance i work out at 5am...so around 6 i have a PWO shake about 50g protein and 8 g carbs in water. then around 8 (usually when i get to work) i have 8 eggs (1 whole) scrambled with a cup of oats. your protein intake is great. while bulking...i add a banana, 1 T of NAPB, and fatfree milk...sometimes a teaspoon of chocolate syrup..with ice and blend...very tasty

I would go with 75 grams dextrose and 20 grams glutamine after workout and then 2 hours later eat 70 grams hi gi carbs like potatos and about 35 grams protein. My wife does this and she is building muscle like crazy and fat gain is very minimal. Maybe 1/3 lb a week tops. Muscle gain is about 1lb week min.
