Training Me or Maybe Not So Much

Ok Question for you gals who have done a show or shows and have worked with a trainer. I am hitting 13 weeks for my first show and feel like and notice no difference in my lean body mass. I am kinda getting frustrated and am not sure what to do. All she has been telling me is to keep my carbs low around 20-50 incuding fibrouis veggies with a few high carb days and keep cals between 1200-1800 and keep protein around 150. Not sure if this sounds confusing to you gals but to me a person who works two jobs and goes to school full time this is very hard for to try and do and try and see why I am not changing I want to do these shows badly I am torn about what to do. ANy opinions ladies on this and what you think????:bawling:

First - what are your current stats and how long have you been in comp training? And what sort of show are we talking about? BB or figure? BB also involves having your routine and your quarter turns down pat.

I'll be real honest - doing a show is a life-consuming thing. Trying to work 2 jobs & go to school full time can result in a compromise somewhere. The other thing is because its your first show, its a really big deal to you, I'm sure!

One thing I wish my first trainer would've told me is about doing a show when you are ready and not doing a show because it is on a certain date. If you don't hit the date just right with your training & diet then it can be more frustrating to have pinned all your hopes on that date and have it screwed up. This can make you feel like you completely blew it when really you just needed either a little more time or a more convenient time to do it. The ideal way is to have a show date in mind, but have a couple extra ones in mind just in case you can't hit the first one. And remember that you dont' live and die by this one show -- there are ALWAYS other shows around.

Another thing to keep in mind is when you get down to the last week before the show, there isn't much else that matters, so if you have a pressing schedule at the same time, it can really just compound the stress so that the whole thing just sucks the life out of you.

Given your current stats, what are your goals? Are they realistic for the 13 weeks?

Ok well I am getting BF% tested on wednesday since i have to be at work at 6:30am tomorrow. I have been stuck at 20% give or take for the past c ouple months so I am estimating there. I am very opimistic but also very realistic. I am aiming for the one in 13 weeks but there is another in 17 weeks that I want to be ready for since it is a larger show.

I know the load I bear is quiet large and if things don't come together they don't come together but I have been want to do this show for over a year now. I am doing figure. I hate not hitting goals i set and i just wasn't feeling like she was helping to the fullest extent and am at odds to find out what to do. But at least if i a not ready i know not to push things. Thanks sassy for the thoughts

what are you expecting to happen? or are you meaning to say, no change in bodyfat?

if you are on a caloric deficit, you cant expect much to happen to your lean body mass....especially if you are expecting it to go up.

is your weight dropping? inches? etc? you may not see a change just because you are looking so hard. the biggest change tends to come closer to showtime as you are really getting down to the bare bones (no pun intended). the thinner your skin gets, the more you notice "new stuff".

Ok I guess I worded thing wrong looking back at what I wrote. I am looking for a loss in fat. As this is the goal in getting down to a show. And we were not going anywhere. If anything I almost feel like I was starting to go backwards from not eating enough and not of the right things.
