Too much protein?

I'm starting a four week intensive program with a personal trainer on Monday, and I talked to him on the telephone today about what he wanted me to eat before our workout. We're training at 9.30am and I mentioned that I'd probably eat my 6 egg whites mixed with half a cup of oatmeal at 6.30am, and he immediately said that 6 egg whites was way too many for a woman. Only eat 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites he said mixed with the oatmeal. In your opinions ladies do you think that he's right about that?

He told me that my first week should consist of 6 meals a day, 6 meals to have protein, 4 meals to have carbs, and 3 meals to have fats. The only time I'm allowed to have a piece of fruit is after weight lifting.

Shadow you are so funny, and I thought it was bull...t actually. I have no idea why he says only 3 eggs for women. Do you and the ladies here think that I'd be better off eating 6 eggs?

This is a four week intensive program where each week the meal plan changes, less carbs mostly each week. Heavy training is involved, lots and lots of cardio, which for me right now would be a good thing probably as I'm much fatter than I'd like to be. His weight training system is also done very much with the idea of core training, in other words your typical bicep curl would be done standing on a bosu ball, instead of your feet firmly on the ground etc. I trained with him a year ago but found it too hard back then due to the fact that my youngest was under a year old, now my diet is much better and feel I can complete the program.

He's a good guy, but as my husband says, he thinks he's too anal and follows the rules that his employer sets out by the book, with regards to food, drink etc.

Oh gotta go, my youngest son has just woken up from his nap.

Byeee for now.

I think most people have a problem with getting enough protein... rather then too little. Especially women. I have had to be more conscious about this myself.

Well personally, I take in 6 egg whites.

But possiblity because of the diet he's putting you on you have enough protein in your diet.

Although I would think you need more than 14g of protein first thing in the morning since you just woke up and haven't eaten anything in at least 8 hours.
