Too much LBM loss.. I think

Kinda frustrated

I am a 56 year old male who started a fat loss program 8 weeks ago.
My starting stats are:
Weight=249
Waist = 51
Body fat at 30.7%

I have used the Weight Watchers system as a form of diet with the addition of additional protein and vitamins. Additionally, I weight train on day one, treadmill on day 2 and rest on day three.

Eight weeks later I find myself at:

Weight =225
Waist = 48
Body fat at 28.6%

The problem as I see it:
My calculations indicate that about 45% of my lost bulk has been LBM. That’s unacceptable.

Any ideas what may be going wrong here? To few calories? To little protein? I have gained ½ inch on my biceps and 1 ½ in on my chest. And my strength has been increasing but I do get quite fatigued on days that I do not train.

Confused!

Hard to say without seeing your diet. Have you been cutting calories? Working out more? Doing more cardio? What exactly have you been doing to cut weight? That's an awful lot of weight with such a low loss of fat %.

Weight Watchers = failure. the failure rate is 90 some odd % if I'm not mistaken. These diets teach you to eat less, not eat efficiently. Contect swole cat or try a low-crab diet. The info isn't that hard to dig up. If i was you I'd do no less than 5x a week with cardio@40-60 min and hit a low a carb diet. make sure you are weight training as well. good new is that at your BF%, the weight should melt off for some time provided diet and trainingare on the money.

Weight watchers is not ideal if you are looking to retain as much LEAN MASS TISSUE as you can. If you want to be a smaller, "just as fat" person, then it's right up your alley! Thanks for the shout out Slyder...........!!
