The Worst Weight-Training injury you've had

Main thing is listen to your body. I think a lot people get injuried trying to "work through" something when they should really be resting it instead. Lots of times your body gives you warning signs and you just need to recognize them.

deadlifting injury about 2 yrs ago. typical stuff- im in a huge hurry- didnt warmup, no straps, no belt & pulled 185 for 5 (usually easy for me). Jacked my back on last rep...mega-doses of vioxx for the next 6 wks...lol
 
I couldn't do any pressing, overhead work, snatches or cleans for a month. I had to wrap my wrists for a couple of weeks, but they're almost 100% now.
 
Tore my ACL maxing in squats.Sometimes your body can't handle the stress of the weight regardless how good your form or prep work is.
 
incline flyes with 75 pounders - arms were too straight and the shoulder gave out. 18 months rehab and still clicks 5 years on...

same type of shit...

sorta new to deadlifting, did my set and at the top i took the tension off my back and sorta relaxed it while holding the weight still and fucked up my lowback/glute/hamstring...pulled real bad
 
3 bulged discs (TWICE!!!) on right side of lower spine from deading. 365 got me on rep 4 this last time....and I told myself put it down and leave it at 3 reps. First time was 6 years ago, and the second time was about 6 months ago. Weight training is something else though...I self rehabed my back into shape and the bulging is gonzo. If I didn't stay on the weights as I could handle, I'd still be in pain. It's those that get hurt and sit and nurse it that never get better. I deaded 405 the other day like the old days....no spine pain....just SOOOOORE in the morning!

lol that sounds all too familiar.

i havnt "PUSHED" myself on deads, like i do on some of the other excersises because of it
 
lol......that was the worst part....honestly, more than the injury. It was like I knew I was going to get hurt, and then I manifested the injury because of it. I was soo mad at myself. This happened both times. The first I was laid up in my bed like a beached whale for two days. I literally could not get up from a laid down position. I was 20 and home from college and my mom was almost in tears, mom-style. I was like....."get...out....of....my.....room....please"

the worst part for me is i had to take public bus home and i had a heavy backpack with my school stuff in it.

the bus was packed, and i sat towards the front for old and handicapped people because that was all that was available. my pull hurt so bad that having any tension at all on my back caused the pain to go away cause it hurt so bad, but instead i felt like i was going to puke and pass out...

at about halfway there an id gets shoved in my face and its an old woman who says "senior citizens get the front seats"...i didnt argue or say anything i just winced and stood up with my backpack and stood on the shakey bus with my fucked up back for the rest of the stops, then walked the 15 minutes home from the bus stop

(mine was a pull though, so not nearly as serious or painful probably as yours)
