Take Pictures!!!

You don't have to post them, but I'd highly recommend to all of you that are keeping diet/training logs to take weekly photos and keep them for your own reference.

I have found that you *think* you look one way, until you take HONEST photos of yourself and it really knocks everything into perspective. Even though you may not want to or you just don't feel like it, the photos may end up being the motivation that you need when you have chocolate ice cream in your freezer :p or even a while down the road when you're questioning why the hell you're eating like this.

DON'T rule it out because you're scared of what you'll see. DON'T wait until you are feeling thinner or sexier. A picture is worth a thousand words... and numbers. Our eyes can sometimes lie to us in the mirror (or sometimes we choose not to look at the trouble spots :worried: ) but a camera captures everything with no mercy. Why rule out one more thing that you can fall back on for motivation?

I agrree.. i luve the way pictures make you see what's really goin on

LOL workin on it! I just burned out my batteries in the digi cam & gotta do the setup to do my pictures (using the timer etc).

Yup, pictures are a great way to see your progress (or lack thereof!) and can be a great motivator!

You ladies are right. I didn't WANT my pics on here, but they are. Now I HAVE to make things better, so I can post the improvements. Than I will feel better & not so insecure. Plus, who cares if you can't see your face.

I agree, taking pisc is the best way to really objectively view your body.

BUT....I also think that sometimes when we look in the mirror ALL WE SEE are the trouble areas. We focus so much in on the "flabby tummy" or "saddlebags" that we don't even see the amazing shoulders, the high perfectly-formed butt, or even the perfect proportion.

We all have areas of strengths and weaknesses. Focusing ONLY on the good or the bad will not help you improve. You need to learn to view your body for what it is - pluses and minuses. The whole package matters. You are not defined by only one area.
