Soreness and Powerlifting Not getting Sore anymore

Gentleman,

Again, I'm new to powerlifting, 3 years of bodybuilding, I'm in my second week of powerlifting, just started sort of Westside style (thnks DAWG) anyway I'm not getting sore anymore. When bodybuilding, I used to toats my muscles until I couldnt put a shirt on for work the next day. NOw that I powerlift, I dont really get sore and I'm not really pumped anymore........Now if you ask me "Mike are you getting stronger?" my answer will be inevitably "hells yeah" After 2 weeks of speed work I went ME day with Squats yesterday and 450 ass to the bottom for a single seemed like a joke, now my max was a lot more but to be honest, that max squat was probably not a competition squat, in other words it was the classic bodybuilder bullshitte who gets the quarter inch rep range. Yesterday I took my max to the damn ground and blasted out of it like Ed Coan ( I know a 450 squat is nothing to rave about) but I'm starting out, I'm about 200 pound s right now. But , I'm not sore, I just dont get sore anymore and I am not used to that. Is that OK guys??? I know my intensity level is there, I am a mad man in the GYM, but no soreness? It almost scares me as I have grown accustomed to that soreness and always related it with growth.

Any opinions,

Peace,
Mike

That just means that you're in really good shape bro. That's part of the difference between bodybuilding and powerlifting. Body builders should change their workout to stimulate the muscles or muscle groups in different ways ( hence all the soreness) and powerlifters keep doing the same excercises (or pretty close).

I know that I do not get sore during the first half of my strength peaking cycle at all. The second half I am putting on strength so fast that I feel sore all the way to the bone from stress. I also feel tight all the time. Some strength peaking cycles do make you sore and some do not.

I know what you mean about associating soreness with progress. I am that way sometimes too. If I feel like I did not work out the next day, I wonder if I worked out hard enough. This typically does not happen at the last month or so to my strength peaks. Once your squats are up you will stress the muscles more and get some of that feeling you enjoy back.
