Shrugging away at traps little results

there are plenty of options to do on your traps and rear delts... bent arm later raise, rear delt movement on the pec machine, high row, straight arm forward lateral raises, etc... you can do high rows with a barbell or alternate arms with dumbells... you can mix in negatives... there's fucking endless things to do on every body part and there's never an excuse to not be able to consistently mix it up...

i had a back injury that kept me away from deads for a long time...

do seated DB shrugs, legs together arms straight.

3-4 sets of 12-15 reps . once or twice a week depending on your routine.

just for future reference this should be posted in the weight trainging forum bro, thanks.

you need to get back to doing deadlifts when you are done being injured... there is no substitute...
my trap development is dictated by my deadlift volume... cant always do them balls out because of back tweaks and pinched nerved, but there is 100% a direct correlation...

Really deadlifts makes that much of a difference on traps?????

of course... its one of the heaviest movements you should be able to load your traps with... if your lower back is injured, rack pulls would substitute well... the heavier the load and volume the better...

that injury was about 6 months ago.wasn't sure if that was enough time?but sounds like im going to have to give it a try for sure

its slow twitch muscle fiber which means time under tension, not crazy weight for short bursts. 5 rep trap sets is like 5 rep pushups sets. pointless.

what if you did a pushup with 500 lbs on your back?.. with your logic that would be pointless?...
i do hold my DL lockout at the top sometimes to work my grip... that is time under tension... i also said heavy with HEAVY VOLUME (lots of sets, time under tension) as well...
most olympic lifters have very respectable traps...
