Shaky , Sick Feeling 1/2 Thru My Workouts

GUNDY

New member
I just started working out again and I have been at it for about 5 months. Before this, I worked out for 15 years, so I am very familiar with the gym.

I am also trying to lost weight so my calories,fat,carbs,protein are at 2800-3000 , 10% , 55% 45% respectively.

About once a week, I will get this shaky crappy feeling about half way thru my workouts. I feel like I need to stop working out and go home.

Now the first thing I thought of is low-carbs right? Well sometimes, I get this even after I have downed a Carbo Force or an Apple juice.

Any suggestions? By the way I am not on the juice yet and I am still about 50lbs above my target weight of 240lbs. I originally was 345lbs about 5 months ago. As you can see I didn't stop eating when I stopped working out!!

Is there any common factor in the days you feel this way? i.e. Is it Leg day, or is it on Tuesdays? I mean there could be a lot of things.. If you're getting light headed and feel faint, it could be dehydration or low sodium. It's hard to say with just the info you gave. Try taking a pickle with you, and eat that when you feel it instead of the carbs, and see if it helps. If it's sodium, that will do it. If it's dehydration, well, you know how to fix that. Try to find a pattern in when you feel that way. That's my only advice. Wish I could be more help.

Go talk to a doctor, or take some time off and see if you feel better.

And you might wanna ask the doc about kjwise's statement? You never know!

More than likely, its low blood sugar. It happens to me if I don't eat before I workout, almost passed out once.
