The increase in weight is due to yesterday's alcohol consumption - water retention. Drink more water today.
And didn't Velvett recommend you to stop with the oats also? She gave you advice on something to try - to see if that made a difference, and you said you would .... but you are still eating oats.
What weight are you lifting for each exercise? (need specifics)
As for the ribs/back - if you are in that much pain, you need to see a doctor.
