Protein Shakes vs Meat Sources

I know simple carbs differ from comple carbs, but isn't protein protein? And since the body does not determine the source that the protein ingested in your body comes from should'nt a Protein Shake or a Meat or Egg source be equal. I ask this because since ingesting 400-500g of Protein daily can be tough from solid food alone I only consume 3 solid meals a day and about 6 shakes daily to reach my calorie, protein, carb and fat requirements daily and I continuously make good gains every cycle. I hear it now and then that solid meals are better than the protein shakes and that you make better gains,. Is this true? If so explain this to me :chomp: ;)

I guess that the amino acid profile is not the same in different type of food.
I have reed a convincing explanation about why solid meals are better than shakes, I don't remember really, but it stated something about what your body believes in terms of all the mechanisms triggered when you eat a complete meal .. The other thing in the research was that having shakes AND solid food it's ok, but you cannot have shakes as the only source of prot ... It's a shame I don't have the link, but, like I said it was quite convincing.

Cheers.

Different foods have different amino acid makeups. Steak is a source of complete protein (has all the amino acids we need). I believe eggs are the most bioavailable.
