Opinions About Workout Methods

Hi everyone!
I wanted your opinion on what you think the best Workout Method is (in order to put on visible muscle).

For example, my trainer thinks that you lift hard to get bulk/mass, but you need to also do lower weights with as many reps as possible in order to fatigue/burn the muscle, which will give definition. So we're doing some of both. I've always been under the impression that you just need to lift heavy, period. Lower weight with higher reps is for those who are just wanting to stay inshape and not "show" any muscle. I want tons of bulging muscle! hehe So is this a good method -- to mix both, or not?

What is your opinion?

To bulk, I've always lifted heavy and to failure on every set - 10 reps max. Maybe a burnout set at the end every once in a while. To lean out, I usually do 10-15 reps per set and a little lighter weight.

That's what's always worked for me, but I'm sure it's not for everyone.

In a nutshell, to build muscle: lift heavy, lower your reps, (I do 5 sets w/1 as w/u highest reps I'll do is 10.), utilize longer rest periods between bodyparts/days allowing your body to recover, changing your program so your body will be continually shocked is good too. Recovery and food consumption is really a key in building. Also lifting real weight, I stay away from machines and isolation exercises during a building phase, (which I am in right now). I know what works for me because I have been at it for a really long time.
I started this phase 4 weeks ago and have put on 4 lbs of solid muscle no aas style. I weigh 145, 5'10", with a current BF of 15%. I expect to gain some fat in this phase which is no big deal. After I achieve my goal, I will go to a circuit style of training because it works for me, I will only do HIIT cardio 1, tops 2 day per week for 25 minutes. The fat will vanish in about 6 weeks, with no fat burners, I just have to change my diet. I do take liquid aminos, it helps me, so does Flax seed oil... So, in my humble opinion, keeping them seperated might be a good idea, so you dont breakdown. Anyway, hope this helps!
