The last few weeks I have been taking a whey shake to the gym to sip on while working out. I've found it's given me a slight improvement in how intense I'm able to make a session for a longer period of time.
I was thinking that as I start bulking in 4 weeks time, I could take whey and dextrose to sip on while lifting - as this would ensure my glycogen stores don't get depleted as much as well as giving me the aminos from the whey that I'm taking in now.
Here's what I'm doing now:
6am - 50g raw oats and 2 scoops of whey
6:30-8:00 - Whey shake (2 scoops) while training (it lasts an hour)
8:00 PWO - 2 scoops of whey blended with 50g of raw oats.
9:00 - chicken and rice (only real food from here for the rest of the day - no more whey).
I was thinking of doing this while bulking:
6am - 75g raw roats and 2 scoops of whey
6:30-8:00 - 2 scoops of whey with 50g of dextrose to sip while training
8:00 PWO - 2 scoops of whey blended with 75g raw oats
9:00 - chicken and rice (and then real food for the rest of the day - no more shakes)
Does this make sense? And is taking the dextrose WHILE training preferable to after training? Does it matter that I end up taking in 1500+ calories between 6am and 9am (I will be bulking on 4000 which leaves 2500 for the entire rest of the day)? Or is that preferable due to me training early morning? Should I be adding dextrose to the PWO shake too while bulking?
