No, I'm not using the 5x5. I actually dropped it a little while ago as my joints were too sore, so following a program that really built up power didnt make sense. What I'm doing now is one heavy set for around 5 reps to failure, then I drop the weight and stay around 8 reps per set. I figure the one heavy set is enough to keep the fast twitch fibres happy, but its too hard to do any more heavy sets while following this strict of a diet. I've also cut my sets down, and have been doing a lot of "down the rack stuff". So I'll go to failure, pull a plate and go to failure again, pull another plate and do it again
 
looking freakin great man. i wish i could get my training back on track, but not having my own car for now isnt helping. once i get to around 240 im gonna cut down. im 225 right now and have had problems putting on muscle mass with my current schedule.

thats not a bad idea, or even something slower digesting like egg white protein
