Hey ladies. I am new to the site and have took quite an enjoyment of reading and following posts. I am 23 years old, 5'5" and 205lbs. I am trying to lose weight. I am not looking for an easy way to loose the weight however the most efficient way to loose the weight as quick as helthfully possible.
I work out hard and have a personal trainer however my problem, which happens to be the most influential aspect, is the nutrition. I know all of the stats and facts regarding nutrition however I just havent been able to implement them into a program that I can stick with. I would include what I eat from day to day however I have nutrition ADD so it changes day to day.
Right now I'm doing the master cleanse to try to clear my body of the toxins and in the process get serious and focussed on a nutrition plan that will work for me. I chose the master cleanse because I was eating horribly and was addicted to Starbucks. I am on day 3 and I plan on doing it for 10-14 days. Can any of you great gals out there give me some advice on how to eat sufficiently and efficiently, thanx in advance. Here's what my workout week is like:

Monday
3:30 pm- 1 1/2 hour - plyo full body workout

Tuesday
6:00am- 1 hr spin class
10:30pm- 1 1/2 hour- Back/Bi's/Abs

Wednesday
3:30pm- cardio 45min HIIT 1min walk/1min sprint ; 2min walk/2min jog
10:30pm- 1 1/2 hour- Chest/Tri's/Abs

Thursday
6:00am- 1hr spin class
4:00pm-Legs, Legs and more Legs!!! MY FAVE

Friday
9:30am- 1 hour Cardio Kick Box
10:30am- 1 hour spin class

Saturday/ Sunday- REST, REST, REST

P.S. My ultimate goal is to step on stage as a figure competitor May 22, 2010, at the NPC in northern California (at 135). I know it's going to take a lot of determination and i am motivated so first things first, nutrition!

Welcome to Elite you came to the right place we are here to help. You are a very beautiful girl it will be awesome to see you transform. Have you had your body fat check yet?

I am not a fan of cleanses in the least bit they are really are not healthy in the long term. IMO opinion it is a better choice to eat real whole organic foods for a few weeks then do some liquid cleans that will make you lose muscle which if you are looking to compete anytime in the near future you do not want. Here is my suggestion for the first month of dieting this based on your current stats of 205 as you lose weight calories will need to be adjusted and lowered.

Please sign up for FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal it is a free website and will best help you track your calories as well as macro nutrition. Make sure to be drinking at very least 8 cups of water at best get up to a gallon this will take some time if you are not used to drinking that much water but it is key. I also suggest dropping diet sodas or diet type drinks period especially over the first month. Replace it with water you can use organic lemons for a splash of flavour you can also drink as much green, white or herbal tea as you like of course unsweetened.

Meal 1:
½ cup organic steel cut oats raw before cooking
½ organic berries
1 cup organic free range egg whites

Meal 2:
6 o.z. fresh tuna or any other white fish broiled or baked
1 cup organic baked yams
1 cup organic broccoli or green beans

Meal 3:
Same as 2

Meal 4 (assuming this is post workout)
2 scopes whey isolate protein mixed with water

Meal 5
6 o.z. baked or broiled salmon
1 cup organic broccoli or green beans

Meal 6:
2 o.z. almonds

The "master cleanse" sounds like a proprietary product. Am I correct? Since you've already bought it, my input on that count is too late, but for future reference organ cleanses can be done w/o spending money on anyone's special (and expensive) product. It's quite cheap actually.

If your diet has historically been as bad as you suggest, cleansing the bowel and the liver could indeed help you not only absorb more nutrients from your food, but help your body properly metabolize lipids better.

No need at all to wait to start a nutritious and lower calorie diet. That's a really nice dietary outline QT just laid out for you. Start tomorrow! And good luck :)

This is a good point but wouldn't something like a colonic be a faster way to get it done? At least in terms of getting the bowls clear. My main issuee with cleans are the ones that last weeks and people are not eating to me that is not cleans that is starving. LOL

Thanx so much QT, this defenitely seems like a doable diet for me. I've never actually had a sweet potatoe in its natural form (only candied yams and sweet potatoe pie, lol) , how do you gals prepare it? Actually, your opinions on the cleanse aren't too late, willow. I just purchased the lemons and the maple syrup, which I'm almost out of so I'm thinking of starting this meal plan on monday (I'll have to go gocery shopping tomorrow). One other quesion, i tend to gag with protein powders, so i drink isopure whey isolate protein drinks, what do you gals think of those? I have not had my bodyfat checked formally however my scale says that I'm 42 percent fat. I know they tend to not be accurate, but when I calculate the numbers it seems realistic.

The isopure drinks are fine just want to make sure post workout you get protein in you fast.

I cut yams into strips like fries toss them in egg whites as well them lay them out on a pan sprayed with olive oil pam bake them in the over on 350 for about 45 minutes or until your desired tenderness that is an indivual thing I think :)

The body fat scales measure water displacement not body fat it can be off by up to 10%

hmmmm, that's an interesting way of cooking them. Maybe I'll try baking them in the oven rapped in foil or somehing. It's a learning process right?

Thanx sooo much for your help. Do you gals think I need to take any supps, I currently take a multi vitamin. I have hydroxycut max, fish oil capsules which don't seem necessary when your eating this much fish (correct me if I'm wrong), B-12, glutamine, flax seed oil tabs, and cayenne pills. I don't take these currently but what do you gals think I should make as a staple in my regimine?
