My take on Wrestlemania....

I know you've alrady discussed this, but I don't work Monday's, so I couldn't post anything yesterday, so don't give me any shit.

The only thing that needs to be talked about it Hogan vs. Rock.

Now... who said Hogan couldn't draw?

Who said he couldn't do it again?

Hmmmmmmm.......... everyone?

I thought so.

How did it feel to eat your words? I bet you felt kinda stupid huh?

Now... you're gonna tell me how the Rock beat Hogan clean, aren't you? You're gonna say that proves Hogan is over the hump. And all the other shit....

Well no shit he's over the hump. The man's 50 years old.

I will say that the match was the most exciting I've seen in years..... possibly ever. I was literally jumping out of my chair.

I did think the Rock was turning heel. The way he carried himself. The way he wrestled. The way he told the crowd to "fuck off" at one point.... the ref had to pull the chair away from the Rock, as they often do with heels... the Rock spitting on Hogan's belt as he whipped Hogan with it.... I thought I was seeing a heel turn. I wondered if he himself would joint the nWo...

When Hogan kicked out of the Rock Bottom, "hulked up"... and the Rock had that "OH SHIT!" face that heels always get... then Hogan dropped the leg... I honestly thought that was it... as a face Hogan could beat a heel Rock. Then when the Rock kicked out, I knew Hogan wouldn't take it. I even called he'd miss the legdrop again, as he did with the Ultimate Warrior.

Then, after the two Rock Bottoms in a row, Rock springs to his feet, does the People's Elbow... 1-2-3. For some reason, when doing the elbow, the crowd cheered... and the Rock suddenly seemed face again.

I didn't mind Hogan losing... as in wrestling, no one really "loses". It's all political. It's all to keep the company successfully rolling.

But if it had been Hogan's last match, I'd be okay with it. It was a great match. I just about shit eggrolls during the whole thing.

So there's the really short version of it.

Hogan did it again.

Even though the story didn't go as I expected, and I thought Rock was going heel, when he actually didn't... it went in a way I didn't expect... which was fabulous.

Can you all say you didn't love the match?

It was huge for 1 reason.

Hogan.

Try to say it isn't so.

You also have to remember that HOgan gets cheered in canada always no matter what.

Just look at how the Canadian crowds reaact at shows, they boo people the Americans typically love and cheer the ones you guys hate.

That and I felt after a while watching the Raw from Montreal was that crowd was just plain rabid anyways, one minute they would boo someone the next they were cheering they were all over the place espec those dorks in the front row(for those who watched it, those guys were doing mocking type cheers and bow downs)

DOT... I agree. It was said HHH might go heel at Wrestlemania. I REALLY thought Rock was going heel...

But with the roster split, you won't have that many faces on one side.

You have two big faces for each side.

Then Angle, Jericho, Undertaker, Hall and Nash can be your bigger heels. There's even a spot for Booker T to play a bigger heel role.

I think it'll be alright with the Roster split.

I'm just not sure how well that's all gonna play out.

The good thing is, they can keep things going longer. You'd only see Hogan and Rock once a week, rather than twice, so they can drag it out over longer periods of time.

This I agree with things were more fun to watch when it was just Raw once a week or better yet just those territories like back in the mid 80's and earlier.

For the record, I don't believe that I ever said he couldn't do it again. I think I just said Hogan had a bad attitude and refused to job to anyone in WCW. That was my main problem with him.

And I thought it was an awesome match. Like you, I thought the Rock was going to turn heel, but it was like a seesaw throughout. The Hogan chants, then the Rocky chants, then the HUGE pop at the end for the People's Elbow.

Easily my favorite match that I've seen in the short time I've been watching wrestling.

Oh, and to disagree with you one one point: I don't think anyone other than the Rock could've pulled that match off. The two of them were working the crowd like no one else can. Gotta give some credit to the Rock.

Suuure.... now you can talk good about Hogan. It's okay... jump on that bandwagon. :D

Actually, they didn't cheer the Rock until the People's Elbow. And if they did, it was a very small amount.

They'd boo the Rock when he punched Hogan. They booed the Rock when he spinebustered Hogan. Then cheered when Hogan got to his feet first. They cheered Hogan when he whipped Rock with his belt, then booed the Rock when he did the same to Hogan... especially when he spit on the belt.

I really thought he was going heel.

And yes... the Rock did an INCRDIBLE job with Hogan. He sold Hogan like no one I've ever seen. As only the Rock can do.

Rock is fantastic. I won't take that away.

But the magnitude of the match was brought on by Hogan... and his legacy.

Rock against anyone else wouldn't have drawn like that. Where if you had Hogan vs. HHH, or Hogan vs. Austin... it would have drawn more than Rock vs. anyone.

You see what I mean?

I know, I know.... praise the Hogan.

I will admit that the Rock sold Hulk even better last night at the beginning of Raw.

And when he started belittling Nash and Hall that was classic.
