Maxing out on squats/compound excersizes everyday

Basically this is how the bulgarians trained for the olympics. They started on this method of weightlifting and then began a rampage of breaking world records and dominated the weightlifting scene until the program was shut down due to lack of funds or something.

Has anyone ever been crazy enough to try this? If so what were the results like?
my workouts will dedicate 20-30minutes to exercise 1 and same amount of time to exercise 2.

day A (monday and thurs)
front squats
over head press
day B (tuesday and fri)
back squats
push press
day C (wednesday and sat)
Front squats
Clean and jerk
sunday is rest day

I will train monday to saturday. since i have other commitment i can only train once a day for now. Im 5 days into the program. upper back is sore constantly. the legs recover faster than i thought. I have seen very small improvements thus far, sometimes i can put more weight on the bar and sometimes i can do more reps. There are no deload phases in this program.

im gonna stay on this program for around 3 months, if i have made progress that is appreciable i will stay on it.

I have done the BULGARIAN BURST program 3 times in the past 23 years.

As with any program, ithas a place. I made gains nonetheless.

holy shit past 23 years? you must be a 30-40years old.

can you tell me more about this program? do you regress in all your lifts initially at the beginning of the program?

Its been awhile. It called for 2 workouts a day, 6 days a week.

Mon-Wed-Fri
am.-Chest and abs
pm.-Legs and triceps

Tues-Thurs-Sat
am.- Back and Traps
pm.- Shoulders and Biceps

3 exercises per muscle group with sets of 4. Reps for Mon-Tues 10-12, Wed-Thurs 8-10, and Fri-Sat was ur heavy compound movents for 6-8 reps.

Mon and Tues 10-12 rep days utilizing dumbbels and cables, Wed and Thurs 8-10 rep days stictly ur heavier dumbbell work, saving Fri and Sat 6-8 reps using barbell work exclusively.

Eat and sleep. By rotating exercises throughout or replacement of said movement can keep this routine fresh with plenty of pr's

I did the SL 5x5 program for about 14 weeks recently. All compound exercises, squatting 3 times a week. But it was just Mon/Wed/Fri, and my legs were always fried. Ate 4500 calories a day, and really filled in everywhere.

Maxing out means 1 rep max to me. Is that what you are talking about? Every day? It wouldn't take long for me to injure myself doing that.

the manual says that you wont be using less than 95% of your 1rm in competition so there is no need to train with weights under that unless you are warming up.

a typical day would consist of me warming up as fast as possible to around 90%. at 90% i would then do at least 6 completed reps, preferably with at least 4 of them being over 95%.

Are you talking about 6 singles with rest between? Because if you can do 6 reps you probably aren't at 90%.

as you get older you are gonna notice soft tissue issues arise if you are doing 1-2 rep max outs ... be smart and be careful.

you can get just as good a workout doing 5-8 reps close to failure .. save the max outs for powerlifting competitions

trust me i love going heavy but as i've gotten older its taken its toll on my body.. specifically my neck. i backed off about a year ago on the heavy shit and my body is extremely healthy. its easy to think you are invincible when you are young..
