I have used 5x5 many times and it is awesome. Sometimes, since 3 days is so boring, I like to do a shoulder workout on Tuesdays and then skip the shoulder workout on Wednesday. So I would do about 3 shoulder exercises but not go overboard. I also do 3 sets of 6-8 reps of the assistance work and I go heavy. Heavy dips, hangin leg raises, pullups, BB curls. The 5x5 works and my modification might not work for you but all I know is that the 5x5 is sick. I dont know if I would do it on a cycle though, since it is a really good program for when you are natty. I might do a hypertrophy based routine on cycle and in PCT, and then right after go inot a 5x5 or a 5/3/1 and solidify your strength gains. Just my opinion.
