Is it bad to drink a protein shake before bed?

Does he like to stretch out while sleeping. Protein shakes ussually give off bad gas, he may want the bed to himself. Check into it.

thanks for all the information guys....

OH YEA, to Mr. Longhorn or whatever it is with the comment about the girl and the IV. Maybe you should "relax a little" When you guys are constantly asking us "are we too fat, are my muscles big enough" Is it bad for me to be drinking this at night before I go to bed??? Guys are JUST as bad if not WORSE than girls, so with that being said. TO ALL THE GUYS THAT GAVE ME USEFUL!!!!!! INFORMATION IT IS TRULY!!! appreciated!!!

and I think that if you don't see a post you like you shouldn't respond because the way people take things aren't usually the way the were intended.

lol, sorry, but I do things for my own amusement. And my post was much wittier than any other post here. And it did answer your question, even though to get to the answer, you would have had to use your brain.

And if you don't want a response you can't handle, then you shouldn't post to begin with.

Your post amuses me, lol.

hahahaha. I think Mr. Longhorn just spunked his personal protien shake on your face girly.

Is this a sign you might need to relax a little? I have an IV setup near my bed filled with a whey protein shake with a minor amount of carbs. It is set to dispense 30 grams of protein every 90 minutes.

rotfl :D

I usually have a low carb shake right around 10:00pm. I've had no probs with it.

On a serious note boys, and girl, I don't think there is any literature out there that proves that protein intake before sleep reduces protein catabolism. What keeps weight is a positive balance of nutrients in the body, what loses weight is a negative balance of nutrients in the body. What keeps the body healthy is healthy food intake. You are what you eat, so keep it clean and your body will respond by hanging on to that hard earned muscle. If a protein shake just before bed brings your daily food intake just above the maintainance level, you will prevent loss of muscle. However, I maintain that the same could be acheived by eating that same amount of calories and stopping 5 hours before bed, you'd just be really hungry, and pissed off before bed. The most important thing is to eat clean, and well balanced, the body isn't designed to take in 500 grams of protein/day and it simply can't digest all that, but trying will tax your body, and make you feel shitty.

just my .02

Cheers.
