Introducing another fat guy

Some questions from a new guy

I joined this group a couple days ago and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I've read a lot of great posts here

I'm 31. I used to weigh in at a hefty 255 at 5'11" 33%BF. At one point I had cholesterol of 650+ and triglyceride of 1253 (both of which should be under 150) and high blood pressure! I was told that I would be lucky to live to see the age of 32. My endocrinologist says that I am "borderline" diabetic. This scared the cr*p out of me. By using a modified version of the Atkins diet, in about five months, I'm down to 215 and 28%BF. I have a LONG way to go.

I have some questions.

1. Anytime I eat carbs like pasta, bread, potatoes, etc I get major headaches that feel much like migraines are described. My endo. says this is not attributable to such carbs but I would swear to it. Anyone here know? Have similar experiences?

2. I take a multi, plus extra vit c and e, MRI's NO2 (jeez this is expensive stuff), and Xenadrine EFX. Any comments on this? Anything I should add? The NO2 seems to have assisted me in developing muscle tone ... I would have to say this is awesome stuff. I just started the Xenadrine EFX...hope it helps.

3. Back in my days in the Navy I was a pretty serious lifter. However now I walk in the gym and I get pretty overwhelmed by all the different equipment. Can someone suggest a site to get a good workout? Or just explain to me a good workout to get me started?

I'm sure I'll have more questions but this post is long enough. I would appreciate any suggestions. I don't want to die young like my father did.

Hey- welcome.

Stick w/ this discussion board, it will take you along way.

If you are looking for a good training routine, go over to the training forum and read up. People post their routines about every 20 minutes. Find one that you think will work for you. Also at the top of the training thread there are stickies that have general directories for how to perform most exercises. If you see some exercise in a thread you don't recognize, go up there and look it up.

Thanks Chewy. I guess because my MAIN concern right now is fat loss I didn't even notice the training part of the board. I'm glad you brought it to my attention.

I've had a few clients that experienced VERY similar problems; in all cases their long-term adaptation to Ketosis in general was the main cause for this problem. I would suggest you try green veggies in your diet and cut the above listed for now

www.proteinfactory.com - all the protein you'll ever need
you need Glucorell-R, Pseven and possibly Trex in your diet. Go to: www.anabolicfitness.net, click AF store

what kind of a workout are you doing now?
as a note, most people try to make their workouts like it's nuclear physics, there is actually not much to working out - pick up weight, do reps, put down weight, as simple as that.

About 4 years ago I started right around where you did (5'10", 260lbs).

Everything else aside, if I could get myself to get up 20 minutes earlier in the morning and go for a quick run/walk before doing anything else, the rest of the day fell into place.

It'll get your blood flowing, you'll drop weight a little faster on the empty stomach, and I was always less inclined to eat crap during the day when I started with a run. It was never anything major, in the beginning I don't even thing it was over a mile, but I started seeing noticeable changes within 5 days.

It never hurts to come here a couple times a day for inspiration either. Good luck.

I posted that and got the itch to go for a jog. Thanks for the inspiration. :D

Karma for you, bro!

Thank you all for your input. It is helpful.

Mr.X I've read many of your posts and replies. You are very knowledgeable. Are you a personal trainer? Dietician?

Stuck...dude... you are funny. LOL

Thanks to all!!

Mr.X, is there another name for "TREX"? I looked at two different places and did a search for it and came up with nothing.

I did find the other two items, Glucorell and PSeven at the AF Store. I had heard mention of a discount code for AF. Can someone tell me what it is? Thanks all.

the discount code is in one of the stickies on the anabolics board, I think it is 'afdiscount', but I would check the thread to make sure.

With the suggested workout plan it would be helpfull to hear your goals, workout history and how many sessions a week you can commit to the gym.

TREX = Thermorexin

Good stuff. Make sure you take it with some carbs. It's a stimulatory fat burner, similar in concept to Xenadrine. I used to take Hydroxycut and like the T-Rex alot more.
