Ideal Set/Reps

Just curious what everyone else does, sorta like a poll but rather than me making one with 80 different choices, just tell me what amount of sets/reps you prefer with your workouts? Yes, it varies, but in general 5x5, 8x3, 3x8, 3x12, 10x2 whatever.

I do 2 warm ups for the first exercise on each of the 2 muscle groups I am going to be working that day, 15 and 10 reps respectively. Then after a stretch I go up to a weight I can get 3-4 work sets for 5 reps. I have been recording my workouts for a few months now and I will start my 1st work set with whatever I finished the last session with and go up 5 lbs each set till I get 5 or less. I have bumped up my bench to 310 from 250-255 in 8 months. (60lbs seems pretty good to me, what about you guys?? Is that a good gain for the time frame of 8 months?)

just started a new routine - 3 WU sets, then 5x5, then 2x8-10 for two additional exercises, total of 12 sets per muscle worked.

6 reps, for 3 sets (3-5 min bet. sets). 2 reps for 6 sets (5 min. bet. sets). 9-11 reps @ failure for 3 sets (2-3 min. bet. sets). Alternate in this order when one feels stale.:)

There are no ideal sets and reps. Its better to use a % of your 1 rep max as a guide. Basicly how heavy the weight feels

The through trial and error you will find what will give yourself the best result.
