I'd love to know, How long did it take you to get from flab to fab?

Polar.

My wife(she is 5'6") went from 155 to 115 in about 4 to 5 months. She just got her body fat check and she at 15.7%. I am very proud of her. She did thermasend, t3, dieted and trained hard with me. I went from 33% body fat to 10.7 in about five months. I am 6 ft with starting weight of 215 to 182 now.

We both concentrat on building as muscle as possible now through heavy training.

As for the calories. It's crazy. I'm at about 1500 for maintenance but people are telling me that if I eat anything under that, my metabolism may slow down.
So I guess I gotta do more cardio.

But lets say I raise my calorie intake (food) and have my calorie deficit come mainly from cardio, won't my body react just the same, thinking I am starving it by not feeding it enough to maintain its activity level?

Does that make sense?

I might be wrong, but I'm guessing that if your calorie defecit comes from cardio rather than diet, no, your body would not react the same. IMO, I think the only time where your metabolism will slow down is if you consume below your BMR.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

As for my previous excess calories question, I guess what I meant was that being petite, when your daily requirements are only 1500, you have to be even better at keeping track of your daily intake than someone who requires 2000 calories to maintain.

Yeah, PolarPixie,
At our size, you do have to watch cals more, but Temple01 and others have managed to finally beat it into my head :smash: that I have to eat more so I'm gonna raise the calories and up the cardio!

We'll see how it goes.
I can't complain about experimenting with eating more!!!

Well

Im not flabby at all but i just want to have a hot bod so im on a diet, also its so much nicer to be healthy, you feel so much better :) Anyways I m one of those people who wants and expects things to happen overnight, and thats how i was with exercise too, if i didint loose weight and look different in a week then id stop the diet i was on.

I discovered the body for life challenge and have since been on it for weeks, going on on monday :) and ive seen some very impresive results. I lost about 4kilograms so far and about and inch and a half on my waist plus other areas.

What im trying to say is it will take time, but its all worth it in the end :)

Welp. I've gotta re-ramped up again....Somehow I ended up doing everything but working out for the past 3 days. You name it, during the time I set up to work out, it's been long-distance calls, feeling sick, unexpected road trips....This is why I never get to my goals. :(

OK...here we go again. Day 1. :)

ok well then i got 2 rules for you:

rule #1
dont be to hard on yourself:
ok so you didnt train today, dont beat yourself up. just dont let it become a habit.

rule #2
be HARD on yourself:
WHAT? you DIDNT workout today? you lazy piece of poop..do some pushups now...

what im saying is..nobody can make you want to workout, you gotta want it yourself. you have to prioritize(sp?) correctly..now, im abit abnormal. cuz training is more important that anything to me. you dont have to go that far. but almost.

but what im a telling you this for? you obviously have spent your share in the gym..just keep pumping girl. you are obviously doing it right

:mrmuscle:

:mrmuscle:....did you just call me a piece of poop? :(

LOL, you're going into my Quotes Hall of fame thread.

You're very right. I guess that is why I am being hard on myself, otherwise no one else will be. :)

Hi Spatts! You're awesome for asking! :)

No real updates except that I am finally getting organized and getting down to business about this losing bodyfat biz. I just started an excel spreadsheet this week trying to figure out just what the heck I'm eating that is making my progress stagnant....I feel like I ate alot today so I'm trying to figure that out right now.

I've also started keeping more exact track of my sets/reps/weights used when I weight train and pushing myself to try harder. As for cardio, I've been doing HIIT about 2 days replacing my regular cardio routine, and I think that might make a difference. I can feel my body responding and working harder.

Soooooo....I hope all of this organization and changes I'm making will make SOME kind of change in my body....

The last thing I can't figure out is this diet thing. :( I don't know if I am eating too much or too little. My metabolism is seriously screwed up I think. I can't figure out how many calories I should be eating, everyone tells me differently. I'm 5'2, 115lbs, bf is too much (trust me on this one), so in order to lose some initial bf, my daily caloric requirements are close to too low. I wonder if it's ok to go low for a week to kick start it and then go back to eating normal.

Bet you didn't think I was going to ramble! :D
