I feel pathetic when it comes to legs, I can bench more than I can squat, my best bench (315 x 5) my best squat (290 x 8), anyways, I need to change this. Is there any techniques or specific leg workouts designed to significantly boos the Ole squat?
Have you ever tried the "power matrix", it's probably up in the powerlifting forum. I use it for bench, squat and deads during a strength or power phase. I put on about 25 lbs onto my bench in 2 months using it.
Ill have to try that box squat thing, the only sure fire booster for me was my cycle, I put 90 lbs on my squat (which means it was a pathetic 190 x 8) and 80 lbs on my bench in 8 weeks
I'll switch back to smith machine squats to increase strength. That way I can go heavier without fear of all the stabiliser muscles packing it in.when I switch back to free weights, I'm a lot more solid

WHAT???? Where did this come from? Just because you can use more weight on a smith machine does not mean that they increase strength..just that you can use more weight. This doesn't mean that they do more for you...you are cheating yourself.
