I have decided that cheat meals and I DO NOT MIX!

I am currently on a low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet (watching my calorie intake for the first time) and have been allowing myself a cheat meal once every 7 days or so. Well, mostly due to stressful times (new job and moving to a new state) and lack of time in the gym (that whole moving thing) I have found myself turning cheat meals into cheat days with all out fucking pig fest. I can't do it. I thought that a cheat meal would help me keep sane during all my chix and tuna eating, but I have come to the conclusion that all it does is make things worse. NO MORE!!!

Well, I'd try to exercise some self-control, as you do need periods of excess calories to boost leptin and speed the thyroid. Not doing so has much bigger ramifications.

I hear ya. I have a lot of self control I think, but, as always, it could be better. I have found that since I began this BBing lifestyle, when I get stressed I tend to head straight for the Klondike bars or some other for of unhealthy eating. Maybe I am a girl.

Nah, don't trip bro, I have the same issues trust me. It's like one taste of carbs or junk, and it's downhill from there, lol. It's really hard, but you can do it. Perhaps you can post pics around your house, make some signs and print them out for motiviation, etc. Those are things I have done, u are not alone!

this is kind of off topic, but speaking of hanging up signs, I just got a huge House of Pain logo banner and am going to hang it up in my bedroom of my new apt. When I get up it will be the first thing I see. I kinda like it. :fistfullo

Another thing you can try is having a cheat meal/day once every 2 weeks. This way, if you do lose control, the damage won't be too bad.

Too Funny! Well, I AM a girl and I DO get some serious hormonal cravings. Add some bloating to that and you figure, "hey, I'm already a fat ass, what the heck!"

I have a hard time with cheat meals too...I've been allowing myself a treat here and there, but smaller portions seems to work better for me.

SC, I for one DO have lots of pics up...even on my fridge as constant reminders.

Can you elaborate on the leptin & thyroid comment...I'm not too informed on such things and really need to spend more time on the diet board! :p

^^^ Nice fridge, Nonerz! I just might have to throw some pics of Big Ronnie C up on mine. Although, I am moving soon and it will just be me in the apt. so there will be no cheat foods even if I wanted them!
