Hunger

Dingo12

New member
I came off the DNP at the end of last week. I lost another 3 lbs on it and after a carb load have been eating 1800-2000kcals a day as a maintenance diet. I am training 1 hour a day weights and have done one cardio session so far this week of 40 minutes. I find I am feeling hungry all the time. Is this my body trying to get back to it's previous weight after the sudden loss? Is my metabolism still in overdrive from the DNP?

I have also just started taking the pill again, could this be causing the cravings?

Has anyone here any ideas?

I'm cautious about this answer, but since no one else has responded.... (Poor Dingo12!)

About 2 months ago, I started getting really hungry all the time. This went on for a week or two. First I thought it was just cravings for stuff because of the strict diet, but no, this seemed to be of a different nature. After 2 weeks of this, I ended up turning up my calories by 100 cal/day. I was worried that this would affect my fat loss, but it didn't seem to, and it helped with the hunger pangs. I talked to my trainer about it, after a week at the higher calories, and we decided to turn my calories up an additional 100 cal/day (so in total, I added 200 cal/day to my diet). Those hunger pangs went away, and my fat loss actually sped up. Apparently, it was my body's signal that I had adapted, and perhaps added some muscle, and it needed a little more fuel. Maybe the same thing has happened to you?

Reason I'm cautious is because hunger feelings can also simply be due to increased metabolism. I don't want everyone to read this and go crazy eating a bunch more calories than they need, just because they feel a little hungry or have a craving for macaroni and cheese or something!! We increased the calories slowly, and only by a small amount at a time until we could see what the results were.

Hope this helps! :)
