how many plates are you guys throwing on for reps- i am interested strictly in adding size to my quads-i could care less about how much i can squat or how strong i am

That's a good thinking bro. Lean size and shape is the best. Trying to impress at the gym lifting tons is a waste of time and energy. Impressing when you take your cloth off in the beach is another thing. Most of the guys at the gym that look big and massive, when they take their shirts off, they are nasty fatty cows full of hair everywhere and of course, like 22 inches arms but full of fat without shape.

I cant squat anymore, I stick with lots of hacks and leg press. Squats have been too brutal on my back the past few years.. The heaviest I ever went though back in the day was like 455 for 6 reps. I couldnt even do that now though..

Really? I have found the leg press to be harder on my lower back than squats by a lot.

We talking regular squats of nice clean ones of a loooooow (below parallel) box?

I weigh 200....I'm at 315 for 10 ...365x5.....405 for an easy"ish" 1 rep....videos on youtube searh (kingsolver22) all recent vids on there

200lbs here

Squated Yesterday Actually

But, right now im breaking away from the PL lifting to get some size, so Higher Reps for Sure. But you can clearly see my Powerlifting strenght is still for the lower 1 rep. Working on getting 315 x 10, last high rep 315 i got 8 and cut it so i could keep adding weight. I think i might have to do a rep out day with 315 and just get swollllee

315 x 5
375 x 5
405 x 1
455 x 1

i never do 10-12 personally, but i hit 4 plates occasionally

personally i prefer the leg press. (no im not slack, put 25 plates on that bastard and see how slack you feel)
i agree, i worked my way up to 480lb for 8 but at this weight i felt it more on my glutes and hams , i switched to leg press and my legs grew like crazy , maybe its cuz of my structure that i can squat heavy (im only short)but for size -i get a better return from presses

Im around 220 at the moment and doing 4 plates for 12-15 reps, 5 plates for 8-10. Dont go heavier that that unless im focussing on strength. Have done 7 plates for a sinlge but wont bother again. Wots the point?!
