How long would it take to raise your GPA by 0.8?

Lets say that you have a GPA of...oh...2.9 and you want to raise it to a 3.7. Approximately how long should that take someone?

I know that it depends on how hard the classes are and how many hours they are...but if you absolutely worked your tail off during the whole time...how long would you say?

Who has ever had to raise their GPA up for one reason or another? Say either to graduate or to get into a masters program.

I would love to hear some input from everyone.

Tell me what your current GPA is, and how many semesters you have left.

would depend on how many semsters you have already in school.

Never got in univ, but throughout highschool I just kept my marks as high as they can be. Higher marks just give you more options later on, but university is so much more different/harder. I'd imagine it would take awhile. How many classes are you taking and how much longer do you have? There's so many variables to tally into that equation.

Well I'm going into univ next year, how did you guys feel about dorm life? I'm in a partying dorm so I'm guessing my GPA won't be very high lol.

dorms suck. They are literally jsut prison cells with doors. 8x10 ft cinder block rooms w/o air conditioning that they charge $900 a month for.

I would rent an apartment in town.

back to the OP, i would say its almost impossible. You probably have about 80 hours of nursing school, so with a 2.9 GPA its impossible to get an overall 3.7 out of another 40 hours.

It does matter how many credits are factored into the 2.9 gpa. I raised mine by about 1.5 in about a year, but I didnt have but one years worth of credit in the previous gpa, and I retook 2 classes. Retaking classes that are bringing the gpa down helps a lot if you can do that at your school.

Lets see...I have one year left to get my degree...but that makes no difference to me. I would actually take other classes while I'm working so I could bring it up during that time. So....I'm looking at maybe 2-3 more years of classes minimum.

At present...I have 20 more hours of school left to graduate with 5 years under my belt. I have a total of 113 hours.

What's the consensus now?

Thanks for your input.

If you took 10 more classes at 3 credits per class and have a 4.0 in all of the classes then you could raise it to 3.13 in 1 year.
