Hey EZ, what do you think about the bioavailability of those Costco eggs? The southern California Costco's carry Norco. But i understand those are all cornfed eggs. That said, I opt for the Kirkland brand cartons of egg whites. I drink 1.5 cartons every morning, in addition to 2 whole organic Omega 3 eggs.

If those costco eggs are "ok" I will have my wife pick up a boatload of em.

Thanks!

Out if curiosity alone...
How much $$$
How long will that last u

The total bill was $230 something, but I picked up some other non-food stuff an $50 renewal fee..

The chicken will last me a week cuz I pretty much eat it every day....eggs & water about 2 weeks....sweet potato will last a while because I only eat them a couple times per week...

Good question, do you mean the organic would have a higher degree of bioavailability?

If your training and nutrition are so on point that the issue of difference in bioavailability of proteins amongst various eggs becomes an issue then I've gotta see the result.

I guess my point, bros, is that this probably isn't what keeps us from meeting our fitness goals... Interesting to think about in passing but I'd rather hear what your real obstacles and plans to overcome them are. Thoughts?

Fair enough. My point is on protein quality v. quantity. It's one of the reasons I choke down Gear capsules from N2BM, to maximize protein synthesis on alleged subpar food sources. Paranoia abounds for sure, but I eat more than a dozen eggs and egg whites a day. I just think (right, wrong or indifferent) that high quality protein sources carry higher nutritional value. I didn't mean to hijack this thread though, so I will STFU. =)

Sure, that's probably true

Not sure how important it is for the average fitness enthusiast but if you're trying for something more "Elite" it makes sense

I am not sure there is a significant enough protein quality differential between organic and inorganic eggs. Still, I buy organic ones when I can because like you I figure I am eating so many of them it would be nice to limit my exposure to antibiotics and pesticides. Again, though, this has little to do with protein quality/bioavailability.

I should probably buy conventional and maybe with all the hormones they put in food I wouldn't need to run cycles ;)

Exactly, lol!!

No worries bossman, I've been debating the organic/non-organic thing for a while......you bring up a great point

1.5 cartons every morning? How much is in a carton?

Surely your not relaying on those for your nutrients, macro and micro?

An egg holds 6grams of protien, a chicken breast 40g give or take on size, plus eggs have a large amount of saturated fats...

1.5 cartons say 14 eggs a day, is 84g of protien hit, and your body will only convert so much at once before wasting the rest, so unless you've increased the rates your body naturally converts it is a waste, unless your having them throughout a day, so seperating each meal with a number of eggs?

I have 8 eggs, 4 chicken brests, whey protien shakes x3 which gives me a intake of roughly give or take 430g of protien a day, I use full cream with fortifcations for micro nutrients, I also have intake of 250g of carbs from brown rice and pastas and 18 slices of fortified wholemeal breads for around 270 of carbs and again micro nutirents. I have afew fresh vegs for other micro nutrients and a can tuna and 2 fish caps for my omega and I split it up into 8 meals as to make sure my body is converting as much as possible oh and a bcaa supplement to increase converting of protiens and such so less is wasted...
Wow I did alot of maths for myself the. Lol!!!

Let me know if I'm on the right track or gone waaaay of track :)

If you go to your health store that sells whey protien, wpc n what not, you'll find afew that have bcaa concentration it helps and adds for protien conversion. As your body will only use as much protien it needs and the rest becomes waste, this allows for higher intake of protien, wasting less and allowing you to use mote. I'm not sure what brands use it or make it. But I use a local brand here in Melbourne. Just shop around you'll or go ask some PTs they should point you in right direction.

No I just brought 'em home to make my fridge look full.

"Surely" a guy with 27 posts might wanna approach this board a bit differently.

Great staples. They have brown rice and sweet potatoes there too. Costco is an awesome protein resource for me as well. I like the Omega Eggs.

There's an old saying "it's not what you say but how you say it"

No one ever said that was the only food I eat & believe it or not you're not the only guy on earth that knows diet...

Now, if you have a suggestion, I'm always willing to listen.....

and all that and you weigh 120 pounds.. you listed a good diet but you are living in fantasy land as your stats don't reflect it.. my only theory is you are doing way too much cardio or you just don't know how to workout to put on mass. maybe you should sit back at 22 and learn for a few years from more experienced guys if you want to put on muscle mass. 120 pounds is fine, but thats not what people who read this board are trying to accomplish, hope that makes sense, not trying to attack you. but you really shouldn't fire at a thread like this if you don't have ammunition.

120 pds?

if the dude is 5 ft and shredded, that's cool.

Guy obviously knows diet, just not how to make a good impression on discussion boards.

I have a really fast metabolism, as for gaining lean muscle mass, I have my workout log now up, zed, D and cs are helping me master myself with that, so I'm still learning that :)
And Cardio I do alot of, short distance stretches, mid-high intesity runs for lung capicitiy also my 5+km jogs with 30kg pack, and on days warm enough 400m swim after treading for few minutes (ocean) my goals are military so cardio is very important to me :/

As for my post, might of been alittle heated, but was more a curious question, should of seperated it better, it was simply that's not all he could be eating could it?
And
Does he take protien hits that high in a go?
And then I listed what I do, an problems with high intake of protien (which is good, post/pro workouts as body will need it and surely convert it) so was more curiousity about how he has it.

And as it reads it's his how he does his shopping I assumed that's his shopping :/ which makes me alittle curious lol

Sorry if I offended anyone, I ment my post in kind regards and was merely interested and curious.

^^^ he posted what he happened to buy that particular day.. not his entire diet.

seems like you were looking for trouble with your reaction. what is there to get heated about? i caught a fish today and brung it home to eat.. does that mean i only eat fish 24/7?

and as i told you in AAS you have a fast metabolism cause you are young so let your body mature and turn into a man on its own, instead of forcing things. also if you want to build muscle mass get rid of the cardio.. but since you are in the military then that isn't an option, but in the military they don't want you to be a bodybuilder so why make a big deal about someone's post on diets for bodybuilders?? ...

As I said above, I wasn't having a "go" at him, and I assumed that was his diet lol a stupid mistake, I shouldn't have read it so literal.
I merely asked questions about it, and stated my diet to open a disscussion about mine too.

Was not tryig to have a go at him, what'd I achieve doing that?
And as it clearly came across as a bad tone, I apologise, and hope you can re-read it with a more of a curiousity open disscussion I intended it to be.
My bad,

Yeah I was going to cut my cardio, but zed and CS both against it, as it's cruicially needed for my career, and with what I want I need alot of upper core strength too, I want to make selections for SAS or Commandos.

Back to diet, I should prob really increase my kj/carb intake to cater for the cardio and weight training yeah.

^^^ the military will feed you and train you the way they want. i would get counselling from some other guys in your career and see what they are doing.. you will be fine, if your military is anything like ours over here it is easy to pass if you can run 1.5 miles in under 15 min and do a bunch of pushups you are fine. its almost impossible to not pass

My requirements is 40push ups, 60 sit ups, 8.9/9.8 shuttle run score, 10km march in battle order, tread water 2 mins 400m swim in 18mins something in full gear bit without pack on swim, and a 5-7km run in a certain time limit... Base requirements to get onto selection...
Then there is a huge amount of physical strength for the climbing, para, absailing ect, and I don't wanna make average, I want to excell bro, I've talked to my father, and ex SAS uniform and few commandos and all say if you go for direct they'll eat you alive and to make selections(invite) best I be eating myself alive lol so I wish to excell and get a selection ;)

Otherwise, average BMI or high with low BF, 25 push ups and 40 situps and a 7.9 on beep test is entry...
I could do that blind, besides BMI :/
Not what I want though...

Nothing but most guys on here seem to have a BIG keyboard...no worries, remember that a post isn't always read as it was meant to be...

Haha yeah I noticed that more on other forms guys with BIG keyboards lol that's why I joined on here less tools more great members for disscussion and friendly debate :)
As for my keyboard it's on my phone so it's little haha :p

Yeah I grew up being rather blunt, I didn't mean to sound as if I was critising you, I was more curious n wanted to talk about it :/ lol fail on my behalf lol

And it's the net your always gonna find keyboard warriors... I don't even bother with them waste of time aye lol

^^^ the hardest thing about the military training is having to get up early and having to deal with being ordered around and disciplined. so before you go set your alarm to 4am everyday and practice getting ready in minutes.. if you don't the first few mornings are gonna be hell.

BTC's wife came home from shopping last night.....

8 flats of chicken (on sale) apx 42 lb

2 qts grape seed oil

3 lb shaved raw almonds

4 qts egg whites

14 lb fresh salmon (also on sale) (bought them out with a few angry people in the fish deli line behind her)

3 half gallons unsweetened almond milk

3.5 lb container of ON hydro whey

 mama keeps me in food.

Usually its not that large. But when chicken and salmon go on sale she goes and buys them out.

They are adulterating the olive oil with cheap oils (vegetable and soy) and adding olive oil flavor. As you all know soy should be avoided at all cost since it decrease testosterone in men and increases estrogen.

No shit, really? Damn!

Good looking out prince

Not sure if I'm buying myphics military reasons. My friend is in the air force and says one of the minimum weights to deploy is 130 lbs. this number is what keeps most smaller women out of the armed forces. Says it a safety hazard... But anyway EZ how much a month is Cosco charging to be a member. Moving out near one soon and wondering if the bulk savings is worth it.

Yearly cost of $50. You could have got that from their website.

It's 100% worth it and they are awesome about returning things.
