Guys, how much time do YOU spend in the gym everyday?

Lifting - like 45 min about 4 or 5 times per week
no cardio except for playing basketball about 4 hours a week

i spend quite a bit of time in the gym each week

sunday, arrive at 10 leave at 12:30 to 1
monday arrive at 8 leave at 11 come back at 3 leave at 5:30
tuesday arrive at 3 leave at 5 (no lift, help a freind with spots)
wednesday arrive at 5:30 leave at 8:30
thursday no gym
friday arrive at 8 leave 11
saturday arrive at 10 leave at 12:30(help a freind with squats)

so prolly 18 hours +.

but when i train im only actually training for 2 hours tops ther rest of the time is helping with spots, setting up. warming up. BSing. making fun of stupid people. etc.

In middle and high school...I probably trained 25-45 hours a week for Martial Arts... It is highly addicting. It was about all I did...

Yup and I'm nowhere near as hardcore as some of the others in my karate club!

My club actually runs 4 2-hour karate sessions a week. I do 3 of these usually. I am going to cut down to 2 sessions for the next few months to concentrate on bringing up my squat (karate is hard on the legs, hence, I'm squatting less often than I'd like at the moment). That'll still be 4 hours a week though.

However, when the scottish university league matches (karate) are on, the students (only student members can be on the league teams) not only have 4 sessions a week, they have team sessions on Saturdays as well....

I did 10 hours a week in taekwondo before that, but that lead to severe overtraining. Not pleasant.

A lot of MA training is skills-based, so you have to put in the time to repeat moves over and over again to improve. Kind of like figure skating without the gracefulness (unless you're b-fold, whose kata absolutely ROCK from the videos he's posted here).

Post those kata videos again b-fold! They are damn cool!

I look back on those and laugh about how bad those were...lol. I sucked at kata...

I'll post them up after the 1st...need my bandwidth to cool down on my web site.
