Getting Dbs off the floor for shoulder presses?

Guys, what is your favoured way of getting damn dumbells off of the floor and into position for DB shoulder presses. MY weights are going up but I may have to drop em from my routine as Im finding it hard to safely get them into position. Any advice?

Ask two spotters to hand you the weights:D . This is the only advice I can give you, you could try to kick them up with your knees, but if you go too heavy that doesn't work

yah, i had to drop them cause the DB's were getting too heavy for any average spotters to hand to me [i'd put one up BTW]

Yeah, I'm still only using the 75's, so I don't have much trouble kicking them up. My chief block right now isn't the weight of the pressing motion, but stabilizing the damn things after I kick 'em.

I may switch to standing barbell militaries in a week or so anyway...

Try doing a power clean with the dumbells before pressing them.I use to do a clean with every press and these really worked the back as well as the shoulders, but, not everyone likes quick lifts like cleans.

i start by having the db's at my side and then in a swinging motion I'm able to get them up. I basically get the dumbbells moving back and forth so i can get some momentum behind them. Then I'm able to get them into postion.

You might want to try the side press instead. The old-school type of press that the professional strongmen like Eugene Sandow (the guy the Mr. Olympia trophy depicts) used to use.

I have used it over the past three months, and have found that my strength in the shoulders has increased greatly, and it hits the lats as well.

Go to http://www.testosterone.net/articles/170top9.html for details about it.

I've been able to work up to the 105's for reps by cleaning them off the floor to shoulder height in one movement, as I'm sitting down on the bench, then as soon as I'm sitting I start to press.
