genetics have a big role in effecting your body weight right? (question)

I guess just be thankful you aren't a fat ass that struggles to keep the weight off :)
 
Do you smoke? My dad was always SKINNY I think maybe around 170. He would eat all day long and never gain at all. He was a smoker and he stopped smoking a year ago and now he is 200lbs.

not ciggarettes, but my dad is a smoker to, so iunno

My dad was about 220 all throughout highschool/college and about 270 now, his brothers, fathers and grandfathers were alll the same way... pretty big guys. My mom was about 120's in hs and about 150 now but also had a big father and brothers.

I have my dads looks, height and everything, but one thing we never matched up on is weight. I weigh about 185 now in my mid 20's and have the hardest time gaining and keeping weight since HS.

Why did I get shafted like this? Could it be because of my nutrition growing up has changed my brain's body weight calculator and maybe even permenantely changed family genetics forever?
