genetics have a big role in effecting your body weight right? (question)

My dad was about 220 all throughout highschool/college and about 270 now, his brothers, fathers and grandfathers were alll the same way... pretty big guys. My mom was about 120's in hs and about 150 now but also had a big father and brothers.

I have my dads looks, height and everything, but one thing we never matched up on is weight. I weigh about 185 now in my mid 20's and have the hardest time gaining and keeping weight since HS.

Why did I get shafted like this? Could it be because of my nutrition growing up has changed my brain's body weight calculator and maybe even permenantely changed family genetics forever?

you can mold your body into whatever you want with propper diet/training

no such thing as hard gainers....just under eaters

there is such thing as a fast metabolism though.. Drinking a 12 pack and eating pizza then waking up the next day 2 lbs lighter is just another day for me

did i say there wasnt...you just need to eat more

i weighed 130 before i started training....im hovering 180 9-10% bf now at short statured 5'8

i can get as heavy as 200....its just not as pretty
 
no i'm complaining because i can't keep any weight I gain

theres your problem.... your diet is shit

fix that and you'll gain weight

learning how to eat properly is hardest/most rewarding thing you can do in bodybuilding - its comes b4 training and aas
