Gear while training to compete

I'm looking to do my first competition some time next spring. How do most competitors use gear while training? For example, if I were currently on a 12 wk var cycle, does it make sense to take the usual 12 weeks off afterwards or is it more common to use stuff the whole way up until your competition? Or do you taper or what? I'm only interested in using var as it's the only thing that has given me good results without nasty man-sides. :)

I'm assuming from your question the competition is not drug tested. yes it is common for female fitness, physique, and bodybuilding competitors to use right up to the show.

Tapering is pointless. As long as you are adding exogenous androgens to your body, your hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis will remain disrupted. Adding oxandrolone to your body does suppress your ovarian production of testosterone, but the effects of T suppression are not as dramatic in women as men, but they DO exist.

do not let anyone tell you PCT for women is unnecessary. That's bologna. I answered a question on PCT for women a few months ago. Look for that in this forum.
