I'm looking to do my first competition some time next spring. How do most competitors use gear while training? For example, if I were currently on a 12 wk var cycle, does it make sense to take the usual 12 weeks off afterwards or is it more common to use stuff the whole way up until your competition? Or do you taper or what? I'm only interested in using var as it's the only thing that has given me good results without nasty man-sides.
