so I had some routine blood work done and I get a call saying my cholesterol is HIGH and they are calling in a scrip for some daily chol medicine. They didnt discuss diet or even tell me what the number was. I had never had a problem with this but I have been eating a lot of bacon and eggs, milk, etc to bulk up lately so I thought it may be that. So today I call to get the actual number...169! They said my triglycerides were high but medication with no discussion for 169? Give me a break...

Wow, that's crazy. That's not bad at all. The one problem with doctors today is that they try to prescibe all sorts of medications without first working with the patient on what THEY can do to help themselves.

Remember...you don't have to take the meds...or even buy them.

it's just another case of the drug industry and health care industry patting each other on the back again.

Remember that the 169 number is your TOTAL Cholesterol per ML.
As an average, 169 is not bad as 200 is the borderline for High.

You have to ask for the breakdown of HDL and LDL or Good and Bad Cholesterol that make up that 169

You may have Higher than normal Bad Cholesterol..
