Last night i had a chance to read throw some of Dan Duchanies
Body Opus book, and something he said about blood sugar levels
confused me now he states that inorder to get into and stay in ketosis is to have your blood sugar levels below 50mg/dl
not i test my blood sugar level daily and use ketostix ketostix
say im in heavy ketosis, and my ACUCHEK blood sugar meter says
im right around 70-mg/dl-89mg/dl?

where do you stand on this now is he stating that blood sugar most be 50mg/dl just to enter ketosis, or to completly stay in ketosis the whole time, just wondering where you stand on this
if my ketostix says im ketosis but my blood sugar is say 75mg/dl
im i still in ketosis?

There is a differentiation between the two: entery level blood-sugar, and maintainance level blood-sugar...to enter a ketonic state it is commended by most that you have to achieve a 40-55mg/dl...on the other hand, to stay in Ketosis you can even have blood sugar levels of 100mg/dl for short periods of time (i.e. TKD right before a workout) as long as it sufficiently stays in the area of 50-80mg/dl...anything over that for longer periods of time will kick you out of Ketosis...do remember, some people can maintain a Ketonic state with much different value then workable for the average joe.
