fat loss/dieting

ok, so im 18 about 6'1 or so and weigh about 165. I make frequent trips to the gym (about 4+ times a week) and am trying to eat right to get cut. I saw in some posts the peoples here say that cardio and a good diet are how to get cut.. "abs are made it the kitchen". Just curious on what one of these good diets consists of. I'm in college right now but this semester just has about 2 weeks left and I'll be heading home, and don't have superb cooking skills so mainly what i eat here is: special k cereal, fat free milk, bananas, tuna, pb&j sandwiches, turkey sandwiches... I'm mainly looking to lose fat around the pecs and abs area...(if it is possible to target fat loss). Any help would be appriciated. thanks

What does your workout routine look like now?

What are you eating now?

I'm not trying to be hard, but man at 165 there are other issues at work here.
 
yea man, at 6'1" 165, i think you could afford to gain a few lbs, about 30. when you get home for the summer, zone in that diet. buy a foreman grill and hone in those cooking skills
 
Its more than a vague possiblity that you are starving yourself soft.

go to fitday.com and enter everything you eat for 6 days, all of it. then go the 'reports' section and find out what your total calories are and where your calories are coming from... you will see the reports buttons, its easy.

Come back and post that info here. There are a bunch of wonderful and knowledgable peeps in these here parts that will hook you up with where to go from here, but you need to know where 'here' is before you can get 'there'. Fitday. Do it now.

^^^ Agreed .. I'm 5'9 , very FEMALE and weigh more than you ... :verygood:

How about putting on some muscle with very minimal fat gain .. fill out a bit?
 
well im not very..broad or wide. I'm not saying that im fat, but i just want to get cut, get rid of some of the chub around my stomach/chest area.
