Drink More Diet Soda, Gain More Weight

LOL

What a bullshit report in terms of science.

I can make a similar assumption.

Eating ice cream increases the occurance of rape.

more people eat ice cream in hot weather

Women typically wear less clothing when its warm...

...you get the idea

For me, drinking diet soda helps me stick to my cutting diet especially on low-carb days. Yes there are stories floating that aspartame tricks the body into spiking blood sugars, but IMO the effect is negligable.

As for gaining weight off this, it's a crock of shit. I'd like to see the study that compares drinking diet and regular coke and differences in weight gain.

Some diet soda doesn't contain aspartame, such as Diet Rite.

I'm with you guys, most of these reports that come out are a crock!

The study does not establish causation, only correlation. To say that diet soda causes weight gain is an entirely different subject that to say that people who drink diet soda are heavier than people who do not.

Another bunch of bullshit as far as I'm concerned. Be advised, however, that I have seen that no-calorie sweeteners can have an effect on insulin levels, resulting in less effective dieting for BBers.

I have seen them as well... funded by companies that produce sugar
