freakingA
my first full day off in 6 weeks and i spend most of it here
as i like wild meats to consume beware some you may think is wild is actually farmed
most 'wild' foods are actually lower in fat than farmed or generic meats ie chicken beer pork etc.....
my fave is actually wild boar, phesant, wild duck and goat
but i love stronger flavoured meats
deer is another stronger flavoured and the choice cuts can be used like regular meats but the rest must be slow cooked for a long time or tenderized (red wine)
i have no problems with them at all other than cost being prohibitive
unless you or a friend hunts

Good stuff!

smarten up peeps
canned tuna are actually from tongol and albacore tunas
much smaller fishes than yellowfin (ahi) or bluefin or bigeye tunas sold as fresh tuna

Love Ahi tuna seasoned and served preferably raw or cooked lightly. Is this the same as the canned yellowfin tuna? (Genova brand in a golden can with olive oil.) The only canned tuna I'll eat from now on. Tastes 1000x better than any other kind. Maybe it's just me.

afraid it isn't
yellowfin tuna are found in many areas in the world
the ones in the cans you speak of are probably the ones that migrate in the atlantic from brazil up to nova scotia and then over to europe
what makes it better is that it is in olive oil
but those are still smaller fishes
fresh ahi tuna is from the pacific mostly around the colder waters between the hawaiian islands and the japanese islands

That's what I suspected. More pricey than the standard albacore too. I'll just add some EVOO to Starkist and save some cash next time. Fresh Ahi I could eat just about everyday and not get sick of it.
